My name is Sam Quashie-Idun, also known as Quashie. I'm a trilingual Senior Presenter, Reporter and Producer with extensive experience working in the TV and news industry. A committed storyteller with an enthusiastic and creative approach to tackling news reporting with intentionality and purpose. A proven track record of reporting on important stories with high impact internationally. Multimedia skilled journalist with a background in law and investigative journalism. I am currently the Head of News Investigations at Greenpeace Africa.
My Story
Born and raised in Geneva, Switzerland but originally from Accra, Ghana. I am fluent in English, French and Spanish. I have an undergraduate degree in English & French Law from the Univeristy of Kent and a Masters in TV Journalism from Goldsmiths, University of London. I graduated with Distinction. During that time was when I also began my career as a Presenter/Correspondent on East London Lines - where I presented a weekly online news show. I then worked for CNN as a News Desk intern and went on to working on their breaking news desk as a Field Producer and News Desk Producer. I eventually moved to NBC News and worked as an investigative Presenter and Producer where I focused on stories relating to Africa, Race and Climate Change using OSINT. This then led me to working for Unearthed, the investigative news outlet for Greenpeace UK, as a Senior Multimedia Journalist, where I worked on stories relating to Race and Social Justice with a focus on visual storytelling, using platforms like Youtube, TikTok and Instagram. I am now the Head of News Investigations at Greenpeace Africa.
